Planning Committee: Recruitment and Retention

Initiative Proposal/Recommendation and Code Number:
(Code number consists of committee initials.fiscal year.initiative number, e.g. AAC.03.01.)
Goals: To upgrade the visual representation of the BSU Homepage and first-level pages (i.e., first click navigation pages NOT departmental level pages) with dynamic and interactive tools (e.g., java script, Frequently Asked Questions, Search, Web-Mail access, etc.) to align it with the University’s branding and outreach efforts. The intent of these changes is to create a “stickier” site that engenders more positive impressions from external audiences.

Consultation with Relevant Groups:
(Planning committees should send initiatives to student senate, bargaining units, alumni, other planning committees, community, etc. as appropriate for feedback before an initiative is brought to University Council. A Planning Initiative Listserv which includes all bargaining unit heads, the student government president, and university council members is available at PlanningInitiative_L@listserv.bemidjistate.edu.)

Please indicate which organizations you have consulted with in preparing this initiative as well as the date the initiative was sent to the Planning Initiative Listserv:
Faculty Senate and all Planning Committees. Copy sent to Student Senate on 10/24 with no response as of yet. I have met with members of the Outreach and Partnerships Committee to clear up funding and control issues and have met with several dept. chairs to clear up departmental web-site control issues.
