Bemidji State University provides on-campus child care for BSU students through Campus Childcare, which provides safe, quality child care for children between the ages of six weeks and six years (infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers). The service's staff and programs reflect a strong commitment to meeting each child's socio-emotional, physical, and intellectual needs. Department of Security & Safety

The Department of Security & Safety provides 24-hour campus patrol as well as general campus information, parking information, disabled and non-disabled escort services, crime prevention programs, operation I.D., building access, and emergency services, such as emergency first aid and emergency maintenance reporting. Carefully selected and trained paraprofessional student employees assist in a variety of roles, including emergency services. The department works closely with local law enforcement agencies and also asks citizens for their cooperation and assistance. Gillett Recreation/Fitness Center

Through its varied activities, this center encourages fitness and recreation as an integral part of university life. The Center is open for informal or open recreation seven days a week during the academic year. Center facilities include a rock climbing wall; a 200-meter indoor track; five racquetball/handball courts; free and fixed weight rooms; cardiovascular machines; a dance studio; a six-lane, 25-yard pool; four activity spaces adaptable for basketball, tennis, volleyball, and badminton.

Union services include the following:
University Bookstore; Lakeside Food Court; Varieties and Such convenience store; an ATM; Touché Art Gallerie; Outdoor Program Center; Commuter Lounge; Beaux Arts Ballroom and various sized meeting rooms; Student Senate; Hobson Union Programming Board (HUPB); Northern Student newspaper; Women’s Resource Center; Phoenix; Intervarsity Christian Fellowship; Information Desk, which provides check cashing, fax service, mail drop, postage stamps, copy service, poster approval, courtesy phone, typewriters, lost and found, laminating, notary services, meeting room reservations, student/faculty/staff I.D. cards, student development transcripts, mailboxes for clubs and organizations.

I.D. Cards - Picture Identification

Picture Identification cards are required of all students. They may be obtained at the Information Desk in the Union. The card serves as the meal card for students on a meal plan. The card also is required for checking out materials from the Library, cashing checks on campus, receiving student rates at campus events, and gaining admission to University facilities. Only valid cards held by registered students are accepted at campus locations.
