German Major, B.S. (Teacher Licensure)

Majors and Minors in Modern Languages

Note: The name that will appear on the licensure is World Languages and Cultures.

For requirements for entry into and completion of teacher licensure programs, see "For All Education Majors" under Professional Education, this catalog.

I. Required Prerequisite

GER 2211 passed with a grade of C or better (not required if students enter with appropriate background)

II. Required Core Courses

GER 3311 Conversation and Composition (3 credits)
GER 3312 Introduction to the Study of German Culture and Literature (3 credits)
GER 4430 German Grammar and Linguistics (1 credit)
ML 3470 Methods of Teaching Modern Languages (4 credits)
ML 4430 Linguistics (3 credits)

Subtotal 14 Credits

III. Required Electives

Select 13 credits of electives from German courses in the 4400-level literature and cultural sequence and the 3317-3320 language skill courses.

IV. Guided Electives

Select 4 credits of guided electives with consent of advisor.

Subtotal 4 Credits
