Theatre Major, B.A.

Students in this program should prepare their schedules in consultation with their assigned Theatre advisor.

Students pursuing this emphasis are strongly encouraged to also take courses from the Visual Arts and Design Technology programs.

B. Theatre History/Literature Emphasis

THSP 2030 Introduction to Scriptwriting (2 credits)
THSP 3705 or THSP 3706, whichever is not taken for the core (3 credits)
THSP 4300 Theatre of the Great Playwrights (3 credits)
THSP 4820 Seminar in Theatre/Speech (2-3 credits)
Electives to achieve minimum of 45 credits (3-4 credits). Electives must be approved by the department. ENGL 4420 Shakespeare and His Age is particularly recommended.

C. Performance Studies Emphasis

Electives to achieve minimum of 45 credits (4 credits). Electives must be approved by the department. Students pursuing this emphasis are strongly encouraged to take vocal lessons and/or participate in a singing ensemble and to take dance courses offered by the Department of Physical Education, Health, and Sport.
