Professional Development Opportunities

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Students who have completed the necessary courses gain invaluable experience working with the public by participating in this IRS sponsored community service program, aimed at providing income tax filing assistance to qualifying individuals who may be uncomfortable or unfamiliar with tax law and filing requirements. 

Association of Accounting Professionals

The purpose of this organization is to improve accounting interest and education among accounting and business students and to promote professional growth. This is accomplished through social activities, field trips, guest speakers, tutoring, networking, and community service.

Accounting and Auditing Student Conference

Annually Bemidji State University accounting majors attend this Twin Cities conference allowing them to network with prospecive employers, faculty and other students. At least 50 employers provide information and recruit interested students for internships and entry-level positions.

Internship Placement

Career Services at Bemidji State University is fully dedicated to preparing students for internships and career positions. Career Services will help you arrange your interviews right on campus, and will work with you individually to help you locate internships that are rewarding, challenging and will advance your career. Our students have secured internships with an impressive list of firms and organizations. Some internships are paid, and can earn up to 12 class credits.
