Accounting Information Systems Emphasis

This emphasis is geared toward enhancing your ability to use and audit accounting information systems and technology. By studying management information systems, systems analysis, data modeling and design, you'll learn how to implement, use and evaluate information systems.

With a background in AIS, you'll be preparing for work as an internal or external auditor, for a role implementing and evaluating technology systems within an organization, or a career in information assurance, examining that proper design and controls that protect against fraud are in place.  

Career Outlook

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the increase in auditing requirements, government regulations, and stricter accounting practices will result in a strong career outlook for Accounting and Auditing. Those with knowledge of Information Systems will have an even greater advantage.
