Scholarships

Scholarships are available for students in business administration, marketing, marketing communications, management, finance, generalist, entrepreneurship/small business management, international business, computer information systems, and management information systems.

These full-time-student scholarship awards are distributed in two parts:
50% of the money will be applied to your Fall, 2012 tuition obligation;
the remaining 50% will be applied to your Spring, 2013 tuition obligation.

Federated Insurance Information Services Scholarships (TWO)

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012 with an interest in and aptitude for an information services role, with minimum 3.0 major and 2.8 overall GPA.  Applicants must have completed at least one of the following courses: CS 1309: Problem Solving, Programs and Computers; or BuAd 2381: Structured Application Development; or BuAd 3381: Management Information Systems. Preference will be given to a student with demonstrated leadership skills, who is involved in extracurricular activities, has related work experience or has received relevant honors. Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Two scholarships for $1,500 each


Federated Insurance Business Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012 with interest or involvement in business, finance or risk management & insurance. Minimum 3.0 major and overall GPA. Preference will be given to a student with demonstrated leadership skills, who is involved in extracurricular activities, has related work experience or has received relevant honors.

Sorensen Business Scholarship

Criteria:  junior or senior standing in 2012.  Business major.  Must be a graduate of an accredited Minnesota high school.  Minimum 2.7 major GPA.

 Baer Family Scholarship

Criteria: incoming freshman or upperclassman majoring in business administration in 2012. Preference will be given to business administration majors with a finance emphasis.

Dorothy Veranth Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012.  Business major.  Minimum 3.25 GPA.

Scholarship for $900


Bemidji Rotary Scholarship

Criteria: junior standing in 2012.  The Bemidji Rotary Club is offering a scholarship to an exemplary BSU student.  If you are a U.S. citizen who is either active in Rotaract or is a child/grandchild of an active Rotarian, please complete and return the linked application no later than March 14, 2012, to the contact listed at the bottom of the application.

Donald J. Zuehlke Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012.  Business major with minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

Leonard Dickinson Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012.  Business major with minimum 3.25 GPA. The recipient must have a sincere interest in northern Minnesota natural resources. Preference will be given to a resident of northern Minnesota.

Mike McKinley Business Marketing Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012.  Business major with marketing emphasis. Submit a two-page letter describing who you are and who you aspire to be (including some life history) and a letter of recommendation from a current or previous boss/supervisor along with the linked application.

Lawrence "Hollie" Higgins Scholarship

Criteria:  Bemidji High School graduate majoring in business administration in 2012. Student must graduate/have graduated in the top fifteen percent of their high school graduating class. If the student has been enrolled at Bemidji State University, s/he must also have a 3.25 overall GPA.

Richard "Dick" Haberer Business Scholarship

Criteria: Junior or senior standing in 2012. Business related major.

MDU Resources Scholarship

Criteria: sophomore, junior or senior standing in 2012 majoring in business administration, economics, finance, engineering, computer science, energy and related disciplines that align with Great Plains Natural Gas Company’s core business focus. Minimum overall 3.0 GPA.

  • Eligible Minnesota communities include: Sauk Rapids, Monticello, Albertville, Alexandria, Annandale, Avon, Baxter, Becker, Bemidji, Braham, Caledonia, Deerwood, Forest Lake, Glencoe, Hinckley, Hutchinson, Isanti, LeRoy, Litchfield, Little Falls, Longville, Mabel, Milaca, North Branch, Pierz, Pine River, Preston, Princeton, Richmond, Rushford, Spring Grove, Spring Valley, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, and Staples.
  • North Dakota communities include: Fargo.
  • Iowa communities include: Decorah, Elkader, Sioux City, Stratford, and Lansing.

Jim Grier Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: junior or senior standing in 2012 majoring in business administration or mass communication who is a graduate of Bemidji High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA.
