 The Chemical Stockroom is dedicated to serving the Department of Chemistry and Bemidji State University by maintaining safe laboratories and providing safe and accurate laboratory setups. We also strive to minimize the chemical waste.

   The Missions of the Chemical Stockroom
  • Provide safe chemical storage, timely disposal and efficient inventory management.
  • Maintain chemical inventory, based on departmental demands.
  • Oversee the disposal of outdated chemical inventory items.
  • Serve as a repository for all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS's) on campus.
  • Prepare safe and accurate laboratory setups consistently on time, without error.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of the department's instrumentation and equipment.
  • Provide information regarding the safe storage, handling and disposal of chemicals.
  • Maintain the labs so that they are efficient, clean and safe.
  • Provide real-world work experience for our student workers.
  • Support commercial aspects of the Chemistry Department, such as petroleum products testing and dairy testing.
  • Perform our duties with a positive "can-do" and friendly attitude at all times.
