Message from the Dean: "It is not clear to me if we have an established policy related to unauthorized people and our course/research laboratories. If you have such policies or related policies, would you provide me with copies of them? Due to legal liability concerns, until formal policy is agreed upon for all science laboratory spaces, an interim policy will be in place. Sattgast laboratory space- No unauthorized (non-student/staff/faculty) shall be allowed to be in the laboratories. This includes children of staff, students, or faculty. The University is not liable for damages to facilities, computers, other equipment if the policy is not followed by faculty or staff."

Chemistry Stockroom Policy

Only authorized personnel are to have access to the chemical stockroom. Authorized persons are:

• Chemistry department faculty and staff.
• Student employees of the chemical stockroom or chemistry department.

Chemistry Laboratory and Facilities Policy

Only authorized personnel are to have access to the chemistry laboratories and chemistry computer lab. Authorized persons are:

• Chemistry department faculty and staff.
• Student employees of the chemical stockroom or chemistry department.
• Students that are registered for the particular laboratory course.
• Students, faculty or staff from other departments after receiving a safety orientation and then only under the supervision of a member of the chemistry department faculty.
