Students of Web Content Writing
May 2007
| Jeremy Dewey
I am a senior at BSU and am rapidly approaching my BFA Degree in Creative and Professional Writing. I transfered to BSU from the Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, MN as a junior. I attend classes full time on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I work full time on the other five days in my busy week, so free time is limited; however, when I can slip away for an hour or two, I love to fish and hunt around my home in Grand Rapids, MN.

I am a senior student who is double majoring in both English and Creative and Professional Writing. I came to BSU as a transfer student from Fergus Falls Community College. After graduation I intend to circumvent the real world once again by going back to school for English Education at an undecided location. I currently work at the BSU Campus Child Care Center and coach community ed. flag football and softball in Bemidji.
In my free time I enjoy watching movies, basketball, playing guitar, and daydreaming. I currently am hung up on NBC's show "The Office"; it is the best thing to hit this world since the invention of the automobile.

I'll be graduating with a BFA in Creative and Professional writing in Spring 2008. The faculty and staff from the BSU English department have helped me enhance my writing skills and enriched my college expericne. I've also developed new skills in the fields of internet writing and web design. I enjoy writing poetry, creative non-fiction, and fiction, and I hope to use those passions in my future career. I currently work with developmentally disabled adults and have a blast doing so. Bemidji is my home for now, and I enjoy all the natural beauty this area has to offer.

I am currently a senior majoring in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Manufacturing Management. While attending classes at Bemidji State, I was employed as a work-study in the Department of Technological Studies for two and a half years, including two summers. In addition, I was involved as a Teacher’s Assistant in a number of classes in the department. I was chair of the student chapter of The Society for Manufacturing Engineers for a total of two years, and a member of the Dean of Professional Studies student advisory committee.
Prior to coming to BSU, I was employed as a Network Administrator at Walker Schools for a total of 5 years. I currently hold a degree in Computer and Voice Networking from Alexandria Technical College.
While attending school I am involved in doing both freelance computer consulting and handy-man work. I enjoy problem-solving, building projects, and the outdoors.

I am a retired teacher. This is my fifth year at BSU in an effort to keep my brain cells alive! I graduated magna cum laude with a BA from Augsburg College in 1965 with majors in Eng. and Biology, minors in Chem. and Sec. Ed. I earned my BS in Elementary Ed. at UMD in 1973. I was a teacher for 30+ years. My husband was a career Navy man, so I was able to teach in Rhode Island, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, California, Duluth and my last 20 years of teaching was in Walker, MN. We have two children, our son is attending BSU, our daughter was in the Navy for six years and is now attending Columbia College in Fort Worth, Texas. I have a home sewing business and love working in my flower gardens. This is the first time my son Colin and I have been in the same class!

I grew up in Texas, but moved to Minnesota in the fall of 2001 to attend Bemidji State University. I love living by the lake and the connections I’ve made here. I've been involved in Residential life as a Resident Assistant, Cultural Assistant, and on Hall Council. I was able to do my undergraduate student teaching in New Zealand, which was an amazing experience. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education from BSU and am a licensed teacher. I returned to BSU in the spring of 2005 to begin work on a Master of Education.
I will complete my degree in December of 2007, at which time I have absolutely NO clue as to where I'll go or what I'll do. I would like to have a couple years teaching experience at an elementary school before continuing my education. My long-term goal is to get my PhD and teach at a University.
I love working with people and computers, doing crafty things (spinning, crochet, and knitting), reading, watching movies, teaching, and American Sign Language.

I'm a graduate student in the English Department. Web design is a really integral part of what I plan to do with my career. The internet is changing the way people communicate, and eventually it will be necessary to know how to use the web to its fullest extent if I were to, say, go on to create some sort of propaganda campaign in a bid to take over the world. Not that I'm going to do that. I'm just saying.
I'm interested in philosophy, writing, the web, blogging, wikis, video games, books, girls, and good food.
You can see some more of my work at my blog, and at the Anarchist Wiki. |
