I joined Bemidji State University in Fall, 1986. Before coming to BSU, I have taught at University of Akron (Ohio), Concordia University (Montreal, Canada), Elizabeth City State University (North Carolina ), and Millersville University (Pennsylvania). I was employed as cartographer at Punjab Agricultural University in India before I immigrated to the U.S.A.

MY RESEARCH INTERESTS:

My major research interests include Medical Geography, Urban Geography, and Cultural Patterns of India. My doctoral dissertation research focused on the utilization of different health care facilities by elderly. I have published articles in different journals. Summer 2010, I presented a paper on India's Religious Diversity at a conference at Belfast, N. Ireland. I presented a paper evaluating the role of Global and Regional Forces on the Growth of Bemidji at the IGU conference held in Moscow-Barnaul, Russia in 2000.  I have presented a paper on the concept of Healthy City at an international conference held in New Delhi. Another paper, presented at the Asian Urbanization Conference held in London, investigates the availability of some facilities in Ludhiana, an urban conglomeration in India.  At present I am analyzing the geographic patterns of religious diversity in India to look at the regional patterns of occupational structures of religious communities, and the growth of Bemidji city.
