GEOGRAPHY

What is Geography?

"Geography's task is to discover and capture the horizons of our planet to understand how humans live, work and utilize their resources.  This understanding is more urgently required than ever before because of new global realities - the interconnected, integrated, and interdependent character of our lives."

The Association of American Geographers (AAG) defines geography as "the study of place, or space. . .(T)he geographer's method of inquiry concentrates on asking two essential questions: WHERE are things located? . . and WHY are they located where they are?"

What is Geography?  And, what can I do with a degree in Geography?
