B.S. in Geography with a Planning Emphasis

SUGGESTED SEMESTER SCHEDULE FOR GEOGRAPHY MAJORS (BS – Planning Emphasis)

The following is a list of Geography Major courses arranged by year. This suggested schedule is intended to help students plan their courses in an orderly fashion. Course names that are bold-faced are required core courses. There are two paths a student may choose in planning: Natural Resource Planning or Urban Resource Planning. Courses for each path are noted parenthetically. Some courses or course sequences may appear more than once as a reminder that several of these courses are required for the degree. Geography majors and minors are strongly encouraged to meet with advisors in the Geography program prior to selecting courses as all courses are not offered each year.

All courses are taught within a 4-semester cycle. There are a few that are taught only ONCE in 4 semesters, these are the courses that must be planned for. It is in your best interest to visit with your advisor to determine a 4-semester (if not 4-year ) course plan.
