As a major in one of our degree programs, that's what you'll be doing, you'll be gaining hands-on experience in your field.  It's a philosophy each of our programs share. We take an experiential approach to your learning that, in addition to your classwork, will include multiple professional development opportunities such as practicum, internships, working with programs and organizations in the community, and professional conferences in your field. We strive to provide you with the opportunity to earn a diverse set of credentials, learn a wide variety of skills, and have a varied set of professional experiences so that you will have the flexibility to meet the diverse expectations demanded of professionals in the field, and have a wide range of career options available to you.

Academic Programs

The Department of Human Performance, Sport, and Health offers a wide range of programs including undergraduate degree programs in community health, exercise science, health education (teacher licensure), physical education (teacher licensure), and sport management. We also offer a selection of minors and  a coaching specialist program.
