Scholarships for Women

To apply you should submit the following to Dr. Donna Palivec, PE 218, by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2014:

1. A letter of application which indicates the scholarships for which you are applying, your student ID number, your current GPA, the number of credits earned, and your anticipated date of graduation.
2. Your professional philosophy.
3. Your resume:  The following are examples of items to include in the resume:  educational background, professional activities and experiences, professional memberships, creative and competitive activities, community service and activities in college.

Myrtie Hunt Alumni

Declared Major (program of study): Physical Education, Sport Management
Current GPA: 2.25 or better
Credits: 64 or more by Fall 2014
Amount of award: ~$3,000 (exact amount determined early spring semester)

Criteria for Selection:

1. Philosophy
2. Leadership
3. Creative or competitive talents
4. Involvement in BSU activities

Elsie Annis Honor Award

Declared Major (program of study): Physical Education, Sport Management
Current GPA: 2.5 or better
Credits: 64 or more by Fall 2012 (at least 47 credits earned at BSU)
Amount of award: ~$700 (exact amount determined early spring semester)

Criterial for Selection:

1. Involvement in activities at BSU
2. Evidence of leadership
3. Other activities contributing to professional growth
    

Hazel Leland Physical Education Scholarship

Declared Major (program of study): Physical Education
Current GPA: 2.5 or better
Credits: sophomore status - minimum of 30 credits earned
Amount of award: ~$300 (exact amount determined early spring semester)

Criterial for Selection:

1. Physically active
2. Promotes physical activity through department, K-12, & community involvement

Selection committee for all women's scholarships:

Women holding full-time faculty appointments in the department of HPSH select recipients.
