- Prepare yourself for your future
We designed the theatre minor at BSU to provide our students with a solid foundation in theatre production, design and performance as well as develop our students along the individual paths they may wish to pursue. We have a strong belief in developing the intellectual engagement and communications skills necessary to succeed in this collaborative art form and to create powerful and topical works of art. These skills will serve you in any number of careers inside and outside of the theatre industry and prepare you for graduate study.
- Develop your imagination
As a theatre minor, you will learn how to create intelligent and provocative works of art. You will develop the skills needed to analyze texts, performances and visual images.
- Engage with the world
All of our minors take a core courses in production, design and performance, and may take may number of electives in advanced production, performance, design, history, literature, diverse perspectives on our art within our global community.
- Find your voice
As a student, you will be given the opportunity to find and pursue your interests through a broad range of electives. You will also be able to put what you have learned into practice in departmental productions through mentored, in-depth theatre practica and through the design and execution of your own capstone project in your senior year.
Students in this program should prepare their schedules in consultation with a Theatre advisor.
