Steve Reznicek

Steve Reznicek serves as an Adjunct Professor for Bemidji State. He is the director of the BSU Varsity Singers, and teaches two of the three Music Methods (Music Education) Courses for the University. Mr. Reznicek was raised in rural central Minnesota. He studied under Dr. Leland B. Sateran at Augsburg College in Minneapolis and received a BA in Music Education in 1974.  Mr. Reznicek taught music for twenty-five years at the elementary and secondary levels at Aurora-Hoyt Lakes Schools (later known as Mesabi East Schools). He completed his Master of Education degree at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1981 and in 1998 he completed a Specialist of Educational Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Mr. Reznicek retired after serving nine years as a Principal in St. Louis County Schools in 2008. As a performer, he has been heard in Minnesota as an active chorister and has performed as Bass soloist with the Mesabi Community Choir and the Bemidji Chorale. In the spring of 2012 Mr. Reznicek directed the Bemidji Choir as Dr. Brad Logan’s sabbatical replacement.  In October 2013 he will serve as one of the alumni conductors for the Augsburg College 100th-year celebration of Dr. Leland Sateran's life and contributions in music in Minnesota.
