My personal mission as a nursing faculty is to provide the best educational opportunities for each student, encouraging them to demonstrate what I consider to be the ideal combination of skills as a nurse "extreme brilliance and compassion". This mission is connected to my belief that everyone has the ability to achieve their dreams and when given the resources all students can reach their highest potential.
My mission is best reflected by JFK "Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation."
As Chair of the Department of Nursing, Dr. Gangeness is
