My belief

Nursing is a developmental profession. It is life-long process of discovery that develops alongside the commission of caring for people. Collaboration at all levels in healthcare, patient to organization, holds the promise of changing lives.

Professional Biography

Leslie Darmofal earned baccalaureate degrees in biology (Illinois Benedictine College) and nursing (Bemidji State University), and master’s degree in nursing (Minnesota State University Moorhead) and currently in University of North Dakota’s doctoral nursing program. She had taught for ten years for Northwest Technical College, Bemidji in the Practical Nursing Program. Prior to teaching, she was a hospital staff nurse in Bemidji. Her nursing experience includes pediatrics, women’s health, family health, medical-surgery, long-term care, and infusion nursing. She has practiced as Infusion Coordinator holding certification in infusion nursing. 

Leslie Darmofal is a board certified Clinical Nurse Specialist with specific interests in genomics and clinical collaboration. As an active member of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics Ethical Issues and Public Policy Committee, collaborative participation among international members produced The Newborn Screening Position Statement: Role of the Nurse. A strong research background offered collaborative participation in an on-going comprehensive study with Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is also active in the Infusion Nurse Society, National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
