Community Health, B.S.
General Information
- Students completing the Community Health major will not have teaching licensure.
- Completing liberal education requirements and a major in Community Health will not earn students the minimum number of semester credits (128) needed to graduate from BSU. Students should pursue a minor or an additional major area of study.
Order of Classes
- Students should take classes in numerical order when possilble. (see Suggessted semester schedules)
Recommended Liberal Education Classes:
- The department of PEHS recommends the following liberal education classes for Exercise Science majors:
- PSY 1100 Introductory Psychology (Category 5)
- THSP 1090 Interpersonal Communication (Category 7 and 9)
- or THSP 1100 Public Speaking (Category 6 or 11)
General Course Inforatiom
- HLTH 2100 Community First Aid is a requirement of this major. Students with Red Cross certifications in First Aid, Adult CPR, Child CPR, and Infant CPR may have the Community First Aid requirement waived, but students must still have the TOTAL NUMBER OF CREDITS in the major to graduate.
- Students in majors/minors outside of Physical Education or Exercise Science who pursue the Coaching Specialist need PHED 3090 Sport Physiology. Students may substitute PHED 3300 Physiology of Exercise and Nutrition.
Graduation Planning Documents
- PEHS students should submit GRADUATION PLANNING DOCUMENTS when they have completed 80 semester hours of degree coursework.
