Preparing for or Retaking the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)

The Professional Education Department offers several resources in preparation for the initial PPST or retaking any part of the PPST.

• PLATO, a web-based, interactive assessment and preparation tool consisting of 1,100 interactive, multimedia modules in reading, writing and math. The software assesses knowledge in each of the basic skills areas and then customizes a tutorial based on your strengths and weaknesses. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, PLATO is free for use by all Education majors, however, registration is required. Click for more information on PLATO.
• ETS provides information about test content and sample test questions in Tests at a Glance. Study guides can also be purchased at this site.
• Self assessment modules are available online from Test Prep Review.
• Resource materials and study guides are available from the Testing Center for a two-week checkout for a $40 deposit.

Preparing for the Praxis II

• ETS provides content outlines, sample questions in each content area with rationale for the best answers, and test-taking strategies.
