Graduate Program

BSU offers an M.S. in Counseling Psychology, which prepares people for careers as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC) in Minnesota.  The program has been designed to allow a student to develop a professional identity that can translate to a variety of counseling settings.  The program is flexible enough to support careers in higher education for students wanting to work on college campuses in career services, advising centers, residential life and student unions.


Careers

  • Mental Health. Graduates work in mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, private practice and other areas where they serve as mental health providers.
  • Higher education. Graduates may work in the areas of student services and student development in college settings.
  • Career/Vocational Counseling
  • Doctoral work. An MS in Counseling Psychology is also appropriate for those preparing for entry into doctoral programs in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
