Fourth Year

Fall & Spring ? credit load will vary by student.  Use this time to:

  1. Complete any necessary electives in the classroom (this MUST be done before you may begin your internship)
  2. Begin internship if you have already completed all of your academic classes.  Internship is 9 credits (600 hours) of counseling.  This may be broken into 2 semesters part-time or completed in one semester, depending on the needs of the student

As you progress through your academic work, part time students should be cognizant of the schedule and the prerequisites so as not to hinder their progress. See your advisor often!

New requirements for the newly adopted Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor will be posted as they are required by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT).

To Successfully Complete the Program:

Begin this early, revisit it regularly, and work with your advisor!

The majority of courses are only offered once per academic year, so this will take some careful planning on your part.  Pay attention to the prerequisites - they are not negotiable!

Courses followed by * may be waived if an equivalent course was taken at the undergraduate level.
