In addition to our dedicated faculty and challenging academics, the Psychology department organizes a number of activities and opportunities for undergraduates to further enrich their BSU experience.
Psychology Club provides social events throughout the year for students to meet and learn more about topics in psychology. The activities can change every year, but they have included: film nights, outdoor activities, lectures, and trips to psychology conferences and other sites of interest.
Our Annual Picnic gives students and faculty a chance to unwind in the spring and our annual Award Luncheon celebrates all the achievements made by our outstanding students.
All students in the department are encouraged to get involved in research, either experimental research in which you collect data or library research in which you critically evaluate a particular area in psychology. Students may then present their research at undergraduate psychology conferences.
Our Internship Program provides an opportunity to participate in a relevant working environment while a student. Internships are carefully planned with a participating business, public agency, or human service agency for one or more semesters of an academic year or during the summer.
If you are planning a tour of BSU, and are thinking of a career in a helping profession, make sure to indicate your desire to meet someone within the Psychology department. We'll take some time to show you more of what our program has to offer.
