The Psychology major emphasizes psychology as an applied and scientific discipline. After completing a common core of fundamental courses, students have the opportunity to select electives in the major to prepare themselves for employment in a wide range of fields, including the human services. Unique courses and internships are available for students to develop basic clinical skills and field experience.
Advanced courses in research methods and opportunities to work closely with faculty on research enable interested students to become well prepared for admission to graduate degree programs leading to a Master's or Ph.D in psychology.
