The course:
The course will be conducted with the interactive software program D2L through the Center for External Learning at BSU. You are encouraged to utilize the Student Orientation course to familiarize your self with D2L.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions concerning the course or D2L.

You will receive a CD with the chapter lecture notes.
The optional text for this course will be Meteorology Today, Ahrens 7th Ed., 2002 or 8th Ed 2006. The text consists of 19 chapters.  Although the text is not required for completing the course you will most likely find it to be very useful.  Please feel free to contact the instructor if you have any questions.

Meteorology Chapter Quizzes: There will be a multiple-choice quiz for each of the 19 chapters consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions.  You will be allowed to take each multiple-choice test twice (2) with the highest score being recorded.  The quizzes will be taken on-line using the D2L software.

Meteorology Web Assignments: These assignments will incorporate the many Meteorology Web sites available around the world.  There will be an assignment for each of the 19 chapters utilizing the web links identified for each chapter.  I will direct you to a specific Internet URL in order to complete the assignment.

Discussions: There will be a link for discussions related to meteorolgy.  I will post 5 topics during the semester to which you can respond to and make comments.  You will be required to participate at least once in all 5 posted discussions.  The comments can be as short as a few sentences or as long as you wish.  I encourage active participation in discussions. Discussions will close on May 1.

Weather Journal: You will be required to maintain a 10-day weather journal for weather conditions for 7 seven cities using (www.wunderground.com) or a similar web site.  The dates for the journal should occur between January 15 - March 15, 2008. Contact Dr. Truedson if you have any questions.

Course Lectures: I have also developed a series for lectures for the course in addition to the text.  There is a link to each of the chapters along with a series of 22 lectures produced by Dr. Truedson.  The course lectures can be accessed via either the D2L link or the BSU Meteorology link listed above.  Please feel free to contact the instructor if you have any questions.
