Program Description 

This program is designed to provide elementary and middle school teachers broad content graduate courses with concurrent pedagogy that will aid in the implementation of a standards based curriculum. Courses will be offered in the earth sciences, biological sciences, and the physical sciences over the next three summers.  These core courses, with the addition of six credits in professional education and a research paper or thesis, will fulfill the basic course requirements for a Master of Science in Science, with an emphasis in science education.  These courses have been designed for application to teaching situations to fulfill state and federal requirements for grades 5 - 8 science licensure.  All core classes will be offered at the Perpich Center for Arts Education, 6125 Olson Memorial Highway, Golden Valley, MN.
