2.1 Expand cultural awareness, and provide the student with an understanding of his or her own culture and of the degree to which he or she is conditioned by it.
2.2 Increase understanding, tolerance, and acceptance of different values, attitudes, and behaviors of cultures other than the student’s own.
2.3 Foster the affirmation of all diverse groups, especially those that have been the recipients of societal bias and discrimination.
2.4 Understand oppression, discrimination and racism related to human diversity as compared to dominant culture – ethnicity.
2.5 Demonstrate high level of sensitivity and / or beginning level practice in cultural competence in cross-cultural practice.
2.6 Identify international models of good multicultural practice.
2.7 Understand diversity as difference related to race/ ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and other dis/ableism.
