  Program Goals
  1. Prepare students for beginning level professional generalist social work practice utilizing culturally responsive micro to macro knowledge and skills within a strengths perspective and systems approach.

  2. Prepare students for identification with and understanding of the social work profession that encompasses an understanding of the global interconnectedness of the human condition and a commitment to social work values and ethics.

  3. Prepare students to understand evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies and shape social change specific to oppression, discrimination, and deprivation and the inequities in resource development and availability.

  4. Prepare students as lifelong learners and for graduate school.

  5. Create continuing education opportunities for faculty and students, as well as for social work practitioners.

  6. Collaborate with other university programs and with broader community organizations and agencies in addressing social issues and social needs
