Social Work Program Field
Expeditions
Annual field expeditions are held to bring Social Work faculty
and students together over a 3 -4 day period to study, observe,
and participate in social work practice in an urban area.
Usually held in the Twin Cities, the annual field trip gives
students and faculty an opportunity to observe legislative
sessions at the Capitol, volunteer with a homeless shelter,
observe and shadow social work practitioners in a variety
of social service settings, and experience the rich diversity
of an urban area.
