Special Announcements

If you are registered for a course that begins in mid-January, remember to order your text books NOW to make sure the text arrives in a timely manner. Course textbook information is listed on your respective cohort web page.

D2L courses will not be available before the official first day of classes. This will mean you can check out the course syllabi and other posted materials early to get a sneak preview of the course, and have some extra time to get ready.

Cohort 12 students – commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 16th in Bemidji. Watch for commencement information to be posted soon on the Cohort 12 web page.

Toll free phone number back in service! The toll free number directly to the Center for Extended Learning at Bemidji State University (800-852-7422) as well as the toll free number to the campus switchboard (800-475-2001) are both back online and functioning correctly. We apologize for this technical difficulty.

Updated Tuition Payment Information: Please call the Cashiers Office at Bemidji State University directly with your credit card information after you have registered for your courses. The Cashier's office can be reached by calling 1-218-755-2045 or toll free by calling 1-800-475-2001 and asking for the Cashier's Office.

Employer Payment process: If your employer will be paying for your tuition, the Cashier's office can fax a copy of your fee statement to you to provide to your employer for payment. You can also have your employer sent a letter of authorization detailing what they will be paying to the Cashier's Office and they can then bill your employer directly. This letter can be faxed or emailed as well. Please note this authorization letter needs to be on file prior to the first day of the semester to avoid registration cancellation for non-payment.

If your employer needs a letter of course completion before grades are posted online, or in addition to a posted grade to verify completion for reimbursement, please email Lynn Johnson at ljohnson@bemidjistate.edu with this request.

Tax Forms: The Records Office at Bemidji State University can authorize required forms needed for tax deduction purposes. Please fax the forms to 218-755-4409.

General Announcements
As most of you know, due to a recent change in interpretation of policies the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has requested that Bemidji State University apply for provincial accreditation for delivering the BAS in Technology Management program in the Province of Ontario. Until approval has been granted, the Ministry has asked that BSU faculty do not physically teach in the province. Hence, until provincial approval has been granted, the program will need to rely exclusively on web-based delivery. We are hopeful that the program can resume its normal mode of operation sometime within the next year. Faculty and staff at both Bemidji State University and George Brown College are working diligently to complete the process as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as we adjust to this temporary situation.

For the time being, all courses will be delivered on the web as they were this past spring. Face to face and ITV delivery will resume when provincial approval is completed. Please note that some classes may experiment with chat rooms in lieu of traditional face to face or ITV instruction for first day class meetings with the instructor.

You will be able to access courses using your BSU student ID number and your birth date. More specific details can be found on the FAQ page and in a letter sent to you in July.
