Masters of Science in Industrial Technology
The Master of Science in Industrial Technology (MSIT) degree program was developed for bachelor degree graduates and was designed for students pursuing an advanced degree in industrial technology, manufacturing, business, and enterprise quality leadership.
Furthermore, courses in the MSIT degree program are offered through a variety of flexible delivery options, including online, self-study and other methods. Depending upon the classes you select, you may only need to come to campus to defend your final paper and even the final defense has been completed in using distance technology. Let me add that the program is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
You need to have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to Industrial Technology. If the degree is not related to Industrial Technology, your career and/or position will be considered. For example, someone with an English degree that is working in manufacturing or enterprise where the degree would be beneficial and applicable is a good candidate. Generally, an undergraduate degree of 3.0 out of 4.0 is required for admittance. However, probationary admittance may be appropriate.
The MSIT requires 33 credits total and is composed of four areas.
I. Required Core Courses Subtotal 9 Credits
II. Quality Leadership Select 12 credits from the following courses; Subtotal 12 Credits
III. Elective Courses Select 9 credits from the following courses; Subtotal 9 Credits
IV. Synthesis Subtotal 3 Credits
Courses are scheduled to fit into you busy work and personal life. Most classes are offered over the internet. Some classes are completed independently, either via the mail, web assisted correspondence, or correspondence assisted with email. Therefore, the course offerings usually fit your schedule, whatever the time of day or night. Usually only one or two classes are offered at a time, and lasts approximately 16 weeks. This schedule means that you can focus on one course and not get overwhelmed if the student desires. A student completing one 3-credit course per semester including summers could complete the MSIT program in 3 2/3 years. If you elected to take 2 courses per semester, you could complete the MSIT in less than two years.
Tuition rates are competitive, costing only $245.00/semester credit plus $15 fee per credit (subject to change). We invite you to compare that with other similar programs. Check with your employer to see if they may offer some type of tuition reimbursement or documentation for income tax deductions. Additionally, out of state students registering for on-line classes qualify for instate tuition.
I have always told my classmates how wonderful the MSIT program is. The best part of the program is the flexibility. It provides a student the opportunity to learn the latest technology but also the freedom to fine-tune themselves in certain fields that they may have a special interest. For example, I was able to learn how Nano Technology would impact human life as well as improving my other skills, Lin Gu.
