An emphasis for the B.S. in Design Technology

Design technology is a unique applied design program that integrates excitement of design and illustration with the knowledge and control of graphic technology and professional preparation for an array of careers as leaders in business and industry.

The program is an innovative interdisciplinary course of study. It couples a liberal arts context with a selection of courses drawn from three departments: visual arts, mass communication, and industrial technology. Students gain a solid education along with an opportunity to acquire specialized training in a professional field of their choice. They are involved in a full range of learning experiences from concept and design through the actual production of the finished product. Graduates are highly sought in the job market due to their skills as technicians as well as flexibility in performing a variety of professional and design assignments.
