Students will need to complete a BSU Student Application and be accepted by the university before they can begin taking classes. The admission application can be accessed at The BSU Admissions web page. This admission process will normally take (4-6) weeks. Once accepted, students will be notified of their acceptance to the university. Once a student has been admitted, they should contact their academic advisor and determine their first semester schedule.
Students may also wish to submit copies if their transcripts from their earlier schooling to determine how their credits will specifically transfer.
There are several important resources for advising and information for students in the Technology Management Program. They include Academic, Transfer, Course Registration & Billing and Records.
Dr. Jim McCracken will serve as your academic advisor, and will assist in major requirements and Liberal Education requirements. He can be reached at jmccracken@bemidjistate.edu or 218-755-2954. As your academic advisor, he is responsible for providing assistance in:
For specific assistance and information on transfer credits and transcripts, contact Crystal Cleven, Assistant Director of Admissions, and transfer specialist at the Admissions Office ccleven@bemidjistate.edu or 218-755-2040.
The Center for Extended Learning (CEL) manages the course registration and billing for off-campus courses. Each semester, the Center also publishes a catalog of all off-campus classes. Once admitted to the program, students should automatically begin to receive a semester catalog. It is the responsibility of the student to register for classes each semester. This should be done a minimum of several weeks before the beginning of each semester to insure that course materials and textbook information can be sent out to the student to permit timely purchase. Students should contact Lynn Johnson, Associate Director of Distance Learning at ljohnson@bemidjistate.edu or 218-755-2068, or 1-800-852-7422 for questions about:
The Records Office maintains academic records of student progress and previous academic work. After admission to the university, this is where transcripts from previous schools will be filed. Contact the Records Office at 218-755-2020, or 1-800-475-2001. The Records Office can provide assistance for:
Students will be responsible for ordering their own textbooks. Students may order textbooks from any textbook supplier. With web-based courses, the course syllabus, which includes textbook information, will be posted up to two weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Students should access courses as early as possible to be able to order texts so that they will have the required books by the official first day of class.
Refer to the Tuition and Fees web page for current tuition rates. Many employers provide varying tuition reimbursement to their employees, so students are encouraged to check with their employer to identify if this benefit is available.
