Financial Aid

Bemidji State University provides a comprehensive program of financial assistance to students totaling over $18 million annually. Programs of scholarship, grant, employment and loan are available for students from federal, state, institutional and private sources.

Pre-registration each semester is essential to avoid delays in receiving aid. Students enrolled in Guided/Self-Directed Study courses must also be enrolled in at least 6 credits classroom credits which include courses on campus, online courses or classroom courses at off-campus sites in order to be eligible for aid. Failure to complete courses within the semester dates may affect student eligibility for aid.

Federal and state financial aid requires demonstrated financial need through the Federal need analysis process. All grant, loan and work-study applicants need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid each year to determine eligibility for need-based financial aid programs. This is available from the FAFSA web site. A financial aid application is not necessary if applying for a scholarship only.

For information on loans and for application procedures and forms, visit the Financial Aid website.
