Graduate Programs
The Center for Extended Learning at Bemidji State University facilitates a variety of graduate degree programs for distance learners:
- Master of Science in Education
The Master of Science in Education degree is designed for practicing pre-K through post-secondary teachers and for others interested in education. It is primarily an online program that allows students to individualize their master's degree with an emphasis on their teaching field. The six core education courses are completely on-line, while elective courses may be on-line or on campus.
- Master of Education
Bemidji State University's Department of Professional Education offers an M.Ed. applied degree for practicing Pre-K through post-secondary teachers and for others interested in education. The M.Ed. degree core courses are designed to meet the six program standards of the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). Additional coursework for the M.Ed. includes ED 6850 Capstone Experience and advanced elective coursework.
- Online Teaching Certificate
This certificate for online teaching provides a sound foundation in distance learning history, instructional design, and hands-on development of online courses necessary to prepare effective online teachers.
- Master of Science - Special Education
The Department of Professional Education at Bemidji State University offers the MS - Special Education degree, along with several licensure programs that will allow teachers to teach special education in Minnesota. This program provides graduate students with a broad base of knowledge about learners with special needs and programming strategies for those learners.
