The Department of Professional Education at Bemidji State University offers online courses leading to Minnesota licensure in both Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Specific Learning Disabilities. Coursework provides in-service teachers with a broad base of knowledge about disabilities and programming strategies to use with students with disabilities. Additional classes for the Master of Science in Special Education are also available for those students who wish to complete the MS in Special Education degree.
Eight classes within the SLD and EBD licensure programs have embedded clinical experiences which take the place of culminating student teaching practicum. Students who transfer in courses from other institutions will complete a separate practicum experience.
