Financial Aid

Earning your degree can be expensive so we encourage you to explore all your financial aid options.  You may wish to consider scholarships, grants, employment and loans from federal, state, institutional and private sources.  Be sure to check out the Extended Learning Scholarships specifically dedicated by Bemidji State University to support distance learners.

Important to know:

  • Pre-registration each semester is essential to avoid delays in receiving aid.
  • Students must be enrolled in six on campus or online credits per semester in order to be eligible for aid.  Credits include courses taken on campus, online or at an off-campus site.
  • Failure to complete courses within the semester dates may affect eligibility for aid.
  • All grant, loan and work-study applicants need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid each year to determine eligibility for need-based financial aid programs.
  • A financial aid application is not necessary for students who apply for a scholarship only.
