Undergraduate Programs
The Center for Extended Learning at Bemidji State University facilitates a variety of undergraduate degree and licensure programs for distance learners:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting You can pursue your Bachelor of Science degree in accounting on your time, around your schedule, from anywhere with an internet connection. If you have completed an A.A. degree or the Minnesota transfer curriculum, or already have a bachelor's degree, in as little as two years you can graduate with your B.S. degree in accounting.
- Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education (DLiTE) The Distributed Learning in Teacher Education program is a blended technologies, K-8 Elementary Education program for rural and urban students who, for various reasons, cannot attend a campus-based teacher education program.
- FasTrack Secondary Initiative Bemidji State University now offers online courses to assist those individuals wishing to teach at the secondary level and willing to submit a portfolio to the Minnesota Department of Education for the purpose of certification.
- Bachelor of Science - Business Administration - Online Bemidji State University offers a Business Administration Degree with areas of emphasis in Management, Marketing and Small Business/ Entrepreneurship, completely on-line. The online Business Administration degree program requires no physical presence on the Bemidji State campus. You can take your course work at home or at your office at a time convenient for you. In addition with a little extra course work you can pick up both areas of emphasis.
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts - Psychology (Arrowhead University Consortium) The Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology available through AUC emphasizes psychology as a scientific discipline. Students become directly involved in independent research activities and/or applied human service skills development, and receive skills training for specialized human service employment. This program is offered on the HIbbing Community College campus and through guided/self-directed study courses.
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology Management The B.A.S. degree in Technology Management at Bemidji State University has been designed to provide an opportunity to build directly upon an individual's past technical education and related work experience. Students can apply many of the credits earned in a 2-year A.S., A.A.S., or diploma toward a 4-year degree. Face-to-face meetings last 4 to 8 hours for each course, with the balance of the course completed independently via the Internet or through email. Only one major course is offered at a time, lasting approximately 6 weeks. Courses are scheduled to allow you to complete the major program in 2 1/2 years.
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Engineering The B.A.S. degree in Applied Engineering at Bemidji State University is a 2 + 2 degree program available to individuals who have an interest in engineering-related career fields. The degree has been specifically designed to provide an opportunity to build directly upon an individual's past education if he or she possesses either a certificate, diploma or 2-year technical degree. Individuals who do not have prior college-level education will also be able to complete degree requirements, but may need to complete some technical courses on campus.
- Bachelor of Science - Criminal Justice - Online Bemidji State University offers the Criminal Justice Bachelor of Science major courses online with an emphasis in one of four areas including Law Enforcement with Internship, Corrections with Internship, Criminal Justice with Internship and Criminal Justice (non-internship). The online Criminal Justice major program permits you to complete your degree according to your schedule, at your convenience. This is a generalist degree that prepares you for a career in law enforcement, corrections, and other public and private agencies concerned with the prevention and investigation of crime.
- RN to Baccalaureate - Nursing The BSU Nursing Program is designed in block times and a blended format (combination of on campus & online) to accommodate busy nurses who have jobs and families and who may commute long distances:
- Juniors come to campus the first two weeks of class and then every three-four weeks with the alternate weeks online
- Seniors come to campus the first two weeks of class and then every three-four weeks with the alternate weeks online
- Some classes are offered online except for the first two weeks of class
- Full-time and part-time options are available
- Clinical experiences are arranged in a variety of sites as close to the student's home as possible.
