The Role of the School of Graduate Studies

The Bemidji State University School of Graduate Studies functions as a separate entity within the University.  

The staff maintains all academic records and oversees the academic process of all graduate students.  Once a student has been accepted to graduate study at BSU, the School of Graduate Studies works with each student to ensure the completion of necessary coursework for their desired degree.  The School of Graduate Studies also oversees the academic graduation of the student, the conferring of degrees, and the commencement and hooding ceremony.

Students work with the School of Graduate Studies and graduate program representatives when making changes to their degree program, such as advisor changes and petitions.
