Student ID Card

Each student is required to have an ID card in order to obtain necessary services on campus.  Your BSU identification card is required to utilize services and materials from the A.C. Clark Library, receive access to the Gillett Recreation/Fitness Center facilities, or print to a printer in any computer lab.  The Student Technology Fee covers printing costs in the computer lab and the library.  However, if you need multiple copies of a particular document, we request that you take the document to printing services to help save university funds and keep technology fees low.  The Printing office is located on the first floor of the Memorial building, and the rate for printing is 5.5¢ per page.  You may be asked to show your Student ID.

Student ID cards can be obtained from the Information Desk on the second floor of the Hobson Memorial Union building.  If you are a distance learner, contact the Center for Extended Learning by phone at 1-800-852-7422, or via email (cel@bemidjistate.edu) and request a "Distance Education ID" without a picture.  ID cards are printed Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 11 pm, Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The first ID card is free; replacement ID's are $20.00. For additional information on ID cards, contact the Information desk (218-755-3760) or visit the Hobson Memorial Union website.

Beaver Bucks

Graduate students may also deposit money to their ID cards for on-campus use.  Money deposited to the ID card is called "Beaver Bucks" and allows students to use the ID as a debit card in campus dining services, such as the Lakeside Food Court and Java City, and convenience stores in Walnut Hall and Hobson Union. Whenever you make a purchase, the amount is subtracted from your Beaver Bucks account.

You can add additional Beaver Bucks to your account at any time with one of the following options:

  • Go to the Dining Services Office in Northwoods Dining Center or the BSU Cashiers Office in Deputy Hall to make your payment by cash, check, money order, or credit card, or to establish a Beaver Bucks account. Deposits to your Beaver Bucks account must be at least $50.00.
  • Go to any cash register at any dining service or convenience location to buy more Beaver Bucks.
  • Buy Online - Use your credit card to purchase Beaver Bucks online.

*Please note: In order to buy Beaver Bucks online, you must have an existing Beaver Bucks account established. If you do not have a Beaver Bucks account established, go to the Dining Services Office or Cashiers Office to sign-up, then re-charge your account at anytime using our online purchasing option.
For more information on Beaver Bucks, visit the Dining Services website.
