Graduate Special Student Application
For the purpose of pursuing graduate course work without a planned objective, but with the goal of personal and/or professional enrichment. Permits students to take courses for an indefinite period of time, provided that a 3.00 (“B”) grade point average is maintained.

Students applying for financial aid must provide an unofficial transcript to the School of Graduate Studies from the institution granting their bachelor's degree (excluding BSU graduates).

Applied Masters Tract (M.Ed, M.Spd) Form 3 - GRADUATE PROJECT AND PRESENTATION PROPOSAL APPROVAL FORM For the purpose of securing approval from a candidate’s graduate committee and field Representative for the graduate project/presentation requirement for completion of an applied master’s degree. Form 4 – APPLIED MASTER’S APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION Complete and submit to the School of Graduate Studies office along with an application fee of $10 (payable to BSU), and a draft copy of the curriculum vita within the first two weeks of the term you plan to complete your degree Form 5 - GRADUATE PROJECT AND PRESENTATION FINAL APPROVAL FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS SEEKING TO COMPLETE AN APPLIED MASTER’S DEGREE AT BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY Signatures verify that student has completed their graduate project/presentation for the Applied Master’s graduate program. Master of Arts/ Master of Science Tract Form 3 – GRADUATE RESEARCH PAPER/THESIS PROPOSAL APPROVAL FORM For the purpose of securing approval from a candidate’s graduate committee of a proposal for the graduate research paper/thesis requirement for completion of a master’s degree. Form 4 – APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION AND CURRICULUM VITAE Apply for graduation during the first week of the semester or summer session in which you expect to complete your oral defense. A graduate faculty representative will be assigned by the School of Graduate Studies. GUIDELINES FOR THE ORAL EXAMINATION             CURRICULUM VITAE – RESEARCH PAPER CURRICULUM VITAE – THESIS PAPER Form 5 – PRE-DEFENSE SIGNATURE FORM For the purpose of verifying that each member of the candidate’s graduate committee has read and provided feedback to the student of the graduate research paper/thesis prior to the oral defense.
