Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission to the Master of Business Administration at Bemidji State University will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. U.S. citizens: An official transcript conferring the bachelor’s degree from a regionally- accredited university or its equivalent. If you received your bachelor’s degree from a MnSCU university, please disregard as we have access to the document.

  2. International students: We require original transcripts or officially certified copies of original transcripts from all institutions conferring your undergraduate degree. If the language of the records is not English, a certified translation must be included with the official transcript.

  3. An undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.50, or its equivalent.

  4. A GMAT score of at least 500, with the test taken within the past five years; Institutional Code: 1T3; Program Code: 1T3-5G-85.

  5. Rèsumè of relevant professional work experience. Include the URL to your LinkedIN page if you have one.

  6. Three letters of recommendation from professional individuals.

  7. A one- to two-page letter of intent that states why the applicant is seeking this degree.

  8. TOEFL or IELTS scores for International applicants:

    TOEFL: For graduate students, the minimum score is 550 on the paper-based test or 80 on the Internet-based test.; TOEFL test code for Bemidji State University: 6676; OR

    IELTS: Minimum score for undergraduate is 6.0 and 6.50 for graduate students. IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cam- bridge ESOL Examinations.

Other program requirements

Capstone Experience

Students pursuing the MBA degree must fulfill the degree’s Capstone Experience requirement. This is accomplished by successfully completing MBA 6145: Strategy and Management. Details are provided within the course description and the course syllabus.

Competency requirement

A working knowledge of applied Statistics; this requirement may be satisfied by successfully completing MBA 6110: Statistical and Quantitative Analysis.

Comprehensive examination

Upon completion of all required coursework, MBA students will be required to take the Major Field Test (MBA) administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and obtain a score of at least 245 in order to graduate from the program.
