ATTENTION: NEW MS in Special Education Applicants
Deadline for Fall 2012 Admission: January 15, 2012!
Please note the new application process for new incoming students applying to the MS in Special Education (SPED) program. Applications will be accepted for the Fall and Spring semesters only. Students applying for Fall Semester 2012 must have all application materials submitted to the School of Graduate Studies by January 15, 2012.
In addition to Form 1, Application for Admission to Graduate Studies, please provide the following:
1. Official Transcripts from your undergraduate institution- applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher in their undergraduate degree and in additional post-baccalaureate courses (this includes graduate course work as well); BSU Graduates or graduates from a MnSCU 4-year institution-please disregard.
2. Applicants must submit a letter of intent. The letter of intent must include responses to the prompts listed below (limit each response to 50 words).
a. Why do you want to be in the graduate program?
b. Explain your background in education or in your current degree field.
c. What do you plan to use this degree for?
3. A copy of a current teaching license, if applicable. Please note: Students seeking a Special Education License, but do NOT have a MN standard teaching license or who may be teaching under a limited license renewed yearly by the Department of Education MUST first take the Standards of Effective Practice (SEP) courses available in the FasTrack Program (online) or at BSU (on-campus).
