  • Tracks the academic standing of Graduate student
  • Meets with students who are struggling with their academics
  • Acts as liaison between the students and staff, both faculty and supervisors of Graduate Assistants
  • Works with student complaints (Students should meet with the Chair of the department before approaching the Dean with complaints against staff or the department itself)
  • Promotes graduate education on campus
  • Works to provide new services and opportunities for Graduate students
  • Works to develop new Graduate programs
  • Review research projects that contain human subjects
  • Acts as a member of certain oral defense committees as needed
  • Approves all theses and program changes
  • Helps develop new policies for Graduate students through the BSU Graduate Committee
  • Approves all new Graduate faculty

  • Oversee all administration processes
  • Monitor Graduate Students' progress from program to graduation
  • Liaison between the School of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Program Directors of each department
  • Assigns Graduate Faculty representatives for oral defense committees
  • Is able to refer and connect students to needed services, faculty, and staff

  • Sends emails concerning open GA positions, job/career opportunities, and any information updates from the School of Graduate Studies
  • Writes the grad_com newsletter for Graduate Students
  • Reviews structure and formatting of Research/Thesis Papers and Capstone Projects
  • Works to answer your questions on APA and MLA formatting
