Visual and aural recognition of the elements of music through music performance, dictation, and improvisation using a variety of musical styles from Western and non-Western traditions. Open to all students in the major, minor, and field of emphasis; others by consent of department chair and instructor. Completion of this course with a grade of "C" or better is required for all music degrees.
