Eligibility

Bemidji State University allows high school seniors, juniors and sophomores to enroll in college level courses through PSEO.

Traditional High School Juniors and Seniors

Students who are currently enrolled as juniors and seniors at Minnesota public or private high schools, who rank in the upper 25 percent of their graduation class, are eligible to apply for admission.

Charter School, Alternative/Area Learning Center (ALC) or Home School

For admission eligibility, the only nationally standardized tests that are recognized are the ACT, SAT, PLAN, and PSAT.

For juniors or seniors with less than one academic year of attendance at a charter, ALC, or home school:
Eligibility will be based on the high school rank of the most recent high school attended. The rank must be in the top 25 percentile.

For juniors or seniors with at least one academic year of attendance at a charter, ALC, or home school:
Eligibility will be based on the composite score on either the ACT or the SAT test:

  • Minimum ACT: 24
  • Minimum SAT: 1110

If you are a junior who has not yet taken the ACT or SAT, we will accept PSAT or PLAN scores:

  • Minimum PSAT: 168
  • Minimum PLAN: 21

High School Sophomores

Sophomores are eligible for PSEO if they are attending a Minnesota public high school and have passed the 8th Grade Reading Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) with a “Meets the Standards” indicator.

Through PSEO, sophomores are only eligible to take Career/Technical Education courses.
