MEET YOUR ADMISSIONS REP
Kristina A. Cirks
Admissions Representative
PSEO Coordinator
Each day, I meet with prospective students and their families. These visits are the most fun and rewarding part of my position. This fall, I will visit most of the western Minnesota high schools. When I visit your high school, ask me any questions you have about BSU. Besides getting the answers you need, you'll be making my day!
Although I am new to BSU, I love it here. BSU is unique because it has the opportunities of a university, but the warmth of a small college. You won't visit many universities that are on the shore of a beautiful lake. The natural environment surrounding campus provides endless opportunities for outdoor activities too. If you like fishing, I may even tell you the hot fishing spots on Lake Bemidji! Plan a visit soon to see what I am talking about.
Things I enjoy in my free time:
Since moving to Bemidji, I have spent my free time fishing, hunting, golfing and enjoying the area lakes. I hate to admit it, but I do find time to shop and enjoy the unique restaurants in the area. And I have to mention my many walks to visit my friends Paul Bunyan and Babe. Whatever the season, there is always something to do around Bemidji.
What I studied in college:
While at the College of Saint Benedict, I earned my bachelor's degree in communication with an English writing minor.
My favorite place on campus:
Besides hanging out by the lake, I love being in the admissions office meeting prospective students! So stop in and say "Hi"!
Advice for prospective students:
Shop around. You don't buy a car without driving it, do you? Going to college is a huge investment, so definitely take time to tour your top college choices. Do some comparative shopping and attend a school that feels like home.
