Mary Jo Chirpich

Scholarship Coordinator

I meet with prospective students and families as well as participate in many campus recruiting events. The most rewarding part of my job is working with students and helping them discover if BSU is the right fit for them.

As the scholarship coordinator, I manage the awarding, processing and promoting of scholarships. Don't hesitate to bring any questions about scholarships to me. I'll help steer you to the ones you may be a candidate for.

I also work with other staff members in creating prospective student outreach programs and manage many of our communication processes. It's very important to me that we are successful in providing an accurate view of Bemidji State.

Things I enjoy in my free time:

I love to run, wakeboard, snowboard, travel and spend time with my family. We have a new baby, our first, and spending time with her is my most favorite past time activity!

What I studied in college:

I received a bachelor af arts degree from BSU! I majored in international studies with a minor in political science. I am also pursuing a master of science in educational leadership.

My favorite place on campus:

I have many, but my favorite would have to be the walkway between Hagg Sauer Hall and the Student Union. It's the first place I laid eyes on my husband. Every time I walk that way, I smile. Without BSU, we may never have met. It's funny how even a simple sidewalk can be a monumental moment for the rest of your life.
