Bemidji State inks deal with Internet broadcast web site
Soccer, women's hockey, baseball and softball to be broadcast around the world

Aug. 21, 2007

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Director of Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb has announced that for the first time in school history, soccer, women’s hockey, baseball and softball games will be broadcast on the Internet. A new web site, called Listen To The Beavers Dot Com, has launched for the fall season and it will be the Internet audio home of the Beavers.

In all, nearly 70 games will be broadcast beginning with the Aug. 24 soccer home opener versus Northern Michigan. The schedule is set to include every home contest for each of the four sports as well as a possible road contest or tournament game as the schedule allows.

"Listen to the Beavers Doc Com is a wonderful opportunity to increase exposure for our soccer, women's hockey, baseball and softball programs," stated Goeb.

Providing the play-by-play will be web site co-owners Brian and Kelly Schultz. Both Schultz's have been involved with BSU Athletics for the past three years. Brian is the radio play-by-play voice of BSU football and men’s hockey while Kelly has served as a sideline reporter and studio host for the radio broadcasts.

The broadcasts are available on a pay-per-listen basis. Individual game broadcasts are $5 and
a season ticket can be purchased for $100. With the season ticket, ALL games broadcast
(soccer, women’s hockey, baseball and softball) on Listen To The Beavers Dot Com are
available both “live” and “archived” meaning the listener can listen at their leisure.
